Monday, June 18th Start Time: 10:30 am – End Time: 3:00 pm
Students need to wear a hat and sturdy shoes.
- 10:30 am: Meet at the school.
- 11:00 am: Leave for Sagehen Reservoir.
- 12:00 pm: Eat picnic lunch.
- 1:00 pm: Walk the trails and gather rocks.
- 3:00 pm: Arrive back at the school.
Tuesday, June 19th Start Time: 10:30 am – End Time: 1:30 pm
- 10:30 am: Lesson about rocks.
- 11:30 am: Classify and label rock collection.
- 12:00 pm: Eat snack.
- 12:30 pm: Visit library.
Wednesday, June 20th Start Time: 10:30 am – End Time: 1:30 pm
Students need to wear a hat and sturdy shoes.
- 10:30 am: Read a book and break open geodes.
- 11:00 am: Walk to the Durham house behind the library to see Cindy’s collection of found & polished rocks.
- 12:00 pm: Eat snack.
- 12:30 pm: Drive to Keith Bundy’s house for a rock cutting demonstration.
- 1:30 pm: Arrive back at the school.
Thursday, June 21st Start Time: 10:00 am – End Time: 4:00 pm
Please arrive on time. Our tour begins at 12:00 pm. Students should wear sturdy shoes.
- 10:00 am: Leave for tour of the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology located at 2455 Old Penitentiary Rd., Boise ID 82712; phone: 208-368-9876.
- 12:00 pm: Enjoy the tour.
- 1:00 pm: Eat lunch.
- 2:00 pm: Drive back to Ola.
- 4:00 pm: Arrive back at the school.
