Summer Reading Program a HIT!

The 2021 Summer Reading Program was a hit! About 20 kiddos participated, ages 1- 13.

Everyone attending had a terrific time!  The children made reading goals for the summer and we are confident that these little readers will meet their goals.

Highlights of the program included…

~A trip to the Boise Zoo which included an animal classification scavenger hunt~

~Guess Whose Tail activity featuring Bev Martin as the tail expert~

~Daily tale read alouds~

~Daily outside fun with friends~

Hello Families and Patrons of the Ola Library!

The Ola Library Summer Reading Program

is almost here!

Here are just a few of the many reasons why you should encourage the children in your household to participate in the Ola Library Summer Reading Program:

  • Children who love to read will enjoy it!
  • Children who don’t enjoy reading will increase their interest in reading.
  • It gives the kiddos a productive and stimulating way to spend a week’s worth of summer mornings.
  • It will give YOU a break!
  • The children will be exposed to literature they might not otherwise be.
  • It includes a FREE Zoo Fieldtrip..whoop whoop!!!!!!!!!!
  • It will make Mrs. Close and program volunteers happy!

Celebrating the Mystery Genre

Do you love a reading a good mystery? If so, you can thank Edgar Allan Poe who is believed to be the first to pen a modern detective mystery novel! Poe’s novel, Murders in the Rue Morgue, published in 1841, is thought to be the first of its kind. Stop  by the library soon and check out one of the many mystery novels available at the Ola Library!
