Who remembers the old Bookmobiles!?
Did you know that the first American Bookmobile was launched in 1904 by a gal named Mary Titcomb. She referred to this early version as the “Library Wagon.” You can see a picture of this first mobile library below.
But most of us probably remember the later versions (ahhh, the smell of books!).
While we don’t see bookmobiles up in these parts, we are fortunate enough to have our very own public library…Yay! Stop by sometime and enjoy browsing the great selection.
Oh, you’ll find that old familiar smell of books as well!
